I'm Marilyne. I search for and select vintage, antique, and sometimes contemporary jewelry for you, but always second-hand pieces. These pieces are appraised, inspected, and restored in partnership with our experts.

 

The creation of Étoile Grenat came about as a natural evidence.

 

Like many beautiful stories, it all began in childhood. My passion for treasure hunting allowed me to escape. At the time, my discoveries were very different from today's, but each became a precious object, carefully stored in a small wooden box lined with red velvet.

 

One day, I discovered my mother's rings. She didn't wear them, what a shame! They had been given to her by her father when she was a young girl: rose gold and Verneuil rubies, diamonds and turquoise... Iconic jewelry from the 50s. Of course, I didn't hide them in my little box, but they marked the beginning of a true admiration for vintage jewelry.

 

Later, recycling and second-hand became a natural part of my daily life. Whether for furniture or fashion, the reasons were certainly economic, but above all deeply conscious and obvious.

 

The trigger event that led me to create Étoile Grenat was the loss of my love ring. Jewelry has always held a special place for me: that of precious objects, witnesses to life's moments. After having to come to terms with this disappearance, I went in search of another ring. And for the first time, I turned to second-hand for a piece of jewelry.

Flea markets, antique dealers, auctions... I discovered and rediscovered incredible styles, similar to my mother's rings, but almost always in need of restoration. Until the day I found My ring: old, Art Deco period, and with it, a certainty: antique jewelry and recycling would be my path.

 

A graduate in business management and with several experiences in various fields (pharmaceutical, legal, prevention), I undertook a complete career change. Surrounded by professionals, I trained in the world of jewelry and then in gemology thanks to a decisive and inspiring encounter with Monika, a qualified and passionate gemologist.

 

More than a year and a half later, I started searching for treasures again, and this time, not to keep them in my little box, but for you.


With Étoile Grenat, I highlight yesterday's jewelry: an ethical gesture and a guarantee of authenticity, with precious pieces full of history, beautifully restored by our jewelry experts.

 

After a very successful launch of the shop on Etsy thanks to you, we are now here to continue the Étoile Grenat adventure!

 

(And as a twist of fate, my lost love ring finally reappeared; it was actually well hidden at the bottom of a glove, patiently waiting for me to find it... It now lives on in a different way: its gold and diamonds are now part of my beloved's wedding band. Nothing is ever truly lost...)
